i got some of Brooke's music off of Daytrotter and i loved it so i had to buy it. i decided to buy this album which is older but i love the Beaut song. i am sad to say i was a little disappointed. it actually is pretty good and the piano is wonderful but its too soft and slow for me. i can't get myself to quite grasp on to it. maybe you can though!

The more I listen to this album the more and more I love it. like i said earlier it reminds me a lot of phoenix. its a one man bander who does pretty much everything. definitely worth listening too. if you don't like it right off try listening to it a couple more times...than you will!

i love this album and have for a while. this is a band from Arizona but i actually just read they broke up this year =(. sad. i will have to check out to see if they have more stuff out there. supposably one of the members has joined up with some members of Copeland and formed a new band. i will have to definitely check it out and let you know!

The Wedding

are you a Nicholas Sparks fan? if so you will love this one. it's a spin off of The Notebook. it is not a sequel but it is about Noah & Allie's daughter and her husband. most of Sparks books have a really sad part where a main person dies, blah blah blah, and i sometimes struggle with that. but there is none of that in this. it is a really good book and has some good lessons to be learned.
The Blackstone Chronicles

Genre: Horror/Suspense

i haven't read very many horror books in my day but my friend/co-worker Bre told me i should read this. at first i wasn't quite sure...i was worried it was going to be to unrealistic. but i got hooked as i got going. it was very suspensful and it is not wise to read it at night when you are home alone =). i wasn't to sure about the ending though. it left me a little confused but definitely worth reading.

Bringing back memories of elementary school?? yep, not for me. a lot of people said they read this in elementary but i don't remember it at all. the cover looks familiar but i don't ever remember the story. i was very glad this book got chosen for book club this past month (thanks Keri!). the story is about a society that converted to 'Sameness'. nobody knows pain/emotions... everyone is the same. except for one person in the society who learns all about everything the world has know. it is a pretty good story. the end leaves you searching for more but all in all its a keeper.

bonfires, fireman, policeman, music, Will...
i meant to post this at the begining of the week but the past few days i was on my death bed. oh man it sucked. i not only had my cold but i got a horrific migraine. its one thing to stay home from work when you are sick and you can watch tv, read books, update your blog. but when you have a major pain around your eye all you can do is lay there and close your eyes. it sucked.
congestions, pounding head, nausea, and body aches = a bad combo. blah
anyways, i feel a load better...now onto my weekend full of events!
so friday evening...haha oh friday evening. i went to hang out with some old friends and we had a bonfire. long story short we ended up going out to Willard bay area. they piled up couches and wood pallets. one after another. added a ton of gas and this is what it looked like:
yeah i know. crazy. it was the warmest fire i have ever been around. i thought my face was going to burn off and i was standing quite a ways away.
come to find out people in Plain City could see this so they got multiple calls of a fire. we are sitting out there while it is dying down, waiting to do our Sobe bomb, and the cops show up. the sherriff comes out with the fire department. we were on the county line so they had to call Box Elder county and there cops showed up with their fire department. i believe there was a total of 8 firetrucks, and about 6 cop cars. way more law enforcement than we had people! the fire department had to put out the fire, which is the first picture below and as you can tell it wasn't much of a fire by the time they got there. these were all taken on my phone so you can't get the full effect but it was crazy. who knew we could cause such a problem! the cops/fireman were extremely nice and just joking around with us the whole time (i think we made their evening...not much happens in that part of town). they even told us where to go so we wont get caught next time! nobody was drinking so no charges were made. it sure makes a good story though...as bad as it may sound, I was glad I was there =)
Saturday evening was the Cartel concert!! yay! it was so awesome! Cartel was amazing and they had some good openers.

the headliners where Hey Monday. i am not a huge fan. we didn't end up staying for all of them.
but Cartel was wonderful. i seriously could sit and listen to them all night.
i actually started to get a little giddy when they were getting ready to perform.. i was only like 20 ft away from this man:

so its official... i am sick. blah. that is what i get for bragging to everyone that i haven't gotten a cold in 2 years. don't kiss and tell people (that is in no way or form saying i got sick because of kissing...fyi). and of course it comes at a crazy busy time. oh the joys of life.
i hope you all have a great weekend. i am going to watch things go up in flames this evening (literally) at a bonfire and than i am going to a concert tomorrow night. it will be an awesome weekend!

ok i lied...
i really want to plan a wedding...
i think i was meant to be a wedding planner. i love love weddings and all the little things that go with it. i love themed weddings. i think Utah could use a little help in their wedding plans... seriously, it is one of the best reason to celebrate two people...and i think a wedding style should portray those two people and be a party at the same time. if only we had all the money in the world to make it perfect that way, right?!
my friend Kate wants to open a bridal shop and i want to be a wedding planner in the bridal shop. such a wonderful plan isn't it??
i think i would need to wait till i actually get married before i plan others though. i am pretty sure i would just blub like crazy seeing all that lovey dovey stuff without having it myself. ya catch my drift?
i am just warning you. when i get married it is going to be one NARLY wedding!

hALlOwEeN 2010!!
at FHE (family home evening) for my singles ward we carved/painted pumpkins. i chose to paint and it turned out pretty good for the tools i had to work with. i was so excited that i went out and bought fake spiders to put all over it and than i came outside one day and the white had washed all away. turns out it was washable paint... grr i was mad.
i hope you all had a Happy Halloween! i love seeing everyones post with their costumes. now its onto November and this month is looking crazy as every. the middle week of the month i have something every single day... serious. they are good things such as the Sara Bareilles concert, Harry Potter, and seeing lots of friends. but it will be crazy. I will have a ton of posts.
