Sara Bareilles!

last weekend i went and saw Sara Bareilles. it was a very good show. i went with my sister & Kate. we were all sickies that night so we were exhausted by the time it was over. a little to much standing for not feeling well. below are some pictures of the evening. one of the opening bands was The Carey Brothers (pictured below). i liked. Sara was very good...she is a good preformer and i just love her songs. her piano was blue by the way...i kind of wanted to take it home. and she played a hand held organ (pictured below)... i kind of wanted to take that home too. i had a video to post but for some reason it wouldn't work. just pictures today:

this weekend has offically become winter in Utah =(. snow is so beautiful and i enjoy snowboarding but i HATE winter.. i think i have been tainted living in Utah my whole life. i hate driving in it, i hate being cold, it all depresses me.. what are you thoughts on Winter??
how was all your weekends??
mine was busy but good. i got together with all my girlfriends from growing up on Friday night and we spent hours just talking with each other. i loved every second of it.
Saturday i painted a lot. my parents are remodeling some of there basement and one of the rooms is where i will be living so i have to help. paint is such a blast. but than i saw Harry Potter Saturday night... so good! Harry Popular (as my family likes to call him) rocks!!

bonfires, fireman, policeman, music, Will...

those words in the title describe my weekend... seriously.

i meant to post this at the begining of the week but the past few days i was on my death bed. oh man it sucked. i not only had my cold but i got a horrific migraine. its one thing to stay home from work when you are sick and you can watch tv, read books, update your blog. but when you have a major pain around your eye all you can do is lay there and close your eyes. it sucked.
congestions, pounding head, nausea, and body aches = a bad combo. blah

anyways, i feel a load better...now onto my weekend full of events!

so friday evening...haha oh friday evening. i went to hang out with some old friends and we had a bonfire. long story short we ended up going out to Willard bay area. they piled up couches and wood pallets. one after another. added a ton of gas and this is what it looked like:

yeah i know. crazy. it was the warmest fire i have ever been around. i thought my face was going to burn off and i was standing quite a ways away.
come to find out people in Plain City could see this so they got multiple calls of a fire. we are sitting out there while it is dying down, waiting to do our Sobe bomb, and the cops show up. the sherriff comes out with the fire department. we were on the county line so they had to call Box Elder county and there cops showed up with their fire department. i believe there was a total of 8 firetrucks, and about 6 cop cars. way more law enforcement than we had people! the fire department had to put out the fire, which is the first picture below and as you can tell it wasn't much of a fire by the time they got there. these were all taken on my phone so you can't get the full effect but it was crazy. who knew we could cause such a problem! the cops/fireman were extremely nice and just joking around with us the whole time (i think we made their evening...not much happens in that part of town). they even told us where to go so we wont get caught next time! nobody was drinking so no charges were made. it sure makes a good story though...as bad as it may sound, I was glad I was there =)

Saturday evening was the Cartel concert!! yay! it was so awesome! Cartel was amazing and they had some good openers.

(Anni, Heather, Maegan, Me, & Nat)

the first opening band wasn't good... I can't even remember there name.
than there was This Century:

The Ready Set:

You have probably all heard this song from The Ready Set: (they have very catchy music)

(i think i could watch there drummer all day...)

the headliners where Hey Monday. i am not a huge fan. we didn't end up staying for all of them.

but Cartel was wonderful. i seriously could sit and listen to them all night.

i actually started to get a little giddy when they were getting ready to perform.. i was only like 20 ft away from this man:

here are some video's. enjoy. the last one is their cover of New Found Glory.

Tonight I get to see Sara Bareilles!!

Phoenix concert

the Phoenix concert finally came! it was very good...they are awesome live. the opening band was kind of annoying and they changed the venue and i didn't like the place it was at. it was to small for the type of show they did. heather forgot her i.d. so we had to stay down below with all the crazy youngings but their music was amazing! they did lots of different things with lights that made it pretty cool. and i am about 98% sure ReAl Salt Lake's goalie was there. Nick Rimando is his name...we couldn't remember that for the life of us when it was necessary. his driver was waiting outside of the venue after getting ready to hold the door for him and we were going to stay and stalk but we couldn't remember his name! what kind of stalker does remember their stalkie's name??

"Lasso"

"Rome"

Chromeo - Ooo Oh

last thursday's Twlight concert was Chromeo. i love Chromeo and have for a couple years so i was so excited when i heard they were playing. so we went thursday and it was pure awesome. Chromeo is 2 guys...see below.. and their music is very electronic and the best to dance too. i think i may have a crush on the singer (the tall skinny guy)...he is kind of sexy and sings good and gots moves...what more can ya ask for? we got to be pretty close to the stage too but as the show went on it got a little crowded and these young boys (probably like 16) starting smoking weed next to us so we went to the back for the last couple songs. the show was awesome...kids these days are dumb. i hope they come back to utah again!!

i dragged heather & kate with me... not sure how much they loved it but i don't have to many concert going friends anymore so they get the pleasure of joining me.

it was a fun night. Big Boi (rapper from Outkast) was the 2nd act and he took forever to take the stage. so we were just standing there chillin and these random guys came up to us and started talking to us. first they told me they thought i was about 18 or 19 ...=) and than they told kate her hair looked faked and started tugging on it to see if it was real... than one kid told me your index finger is suppose to be larger than your ring finger. mine isn't. which according to him means i had a lot of testosterone when i was young resulting in making me feisty. i am kind of thinking this is true because i can get pretty feisty sometimes... i than realized my mom has the same fingers, so i know where i got it from.

ok the next picture is a little revealing...sexy sexy ;) but i wanted to share my pain. on saturday me and kate went and spent the late morning/early afternoon at the beach at pineview dam... this is the result of falling asleep... it hurts real bad...

the temper trap

ok. i am slowly but surely catching up on my posts..
like i mentioned earlier i went to The Temper Trap concert on wednesday evening. it was really good. my sister is the one who told me about this band so with tomorrow being her birthday i brought her along with me for a good birthday present (i am such a nice sister huh?!) i didn't have my camera so these pictures are from my phone. they are very crappy.. i apologize. but it helped me post them faster cause i didn't have to load them from my camera, thats a plus. but this is them (if you can tell).. as i mentioned before they are Australian. the singer (who is the one that talked the most) did not have a strong accent which thoroughly disappointed me...grr.

the opening band was called Butterfly Bones. they were a very extreme electronic/dance band. they had some pretty awesome beats and pretty entertaining to watch. my sister doesn't do very well with electronic music so she got to a point where she wasn't sure she could listen anymore... so don't check them out if you can't handle it!

awww...how i love a good show. next months show is Phoenix..as Usher would say..Yeah! (still haven't found a date to take...any ideas??)
